Discovery Academy is a brand-new school for children and young people with SEND located on the Norfolk Park Estate in Sheffield. The Academy is run by the award-winning Nexus Multi Academy Trust.

Our Opportunity
We are looking to appoint a highly professional and efficient Higher Level Teaching Assistant.
You will need to demonstrate that you:
- Have experience of supporting children with special educational needs and challenging behaviour and delivery of lessons to either individuals and or small groups or classes.
- The skills to place pupil learning at the centre of all your practice.
- The ability to make sound judgements on attainment & progress of students, assess and celebrate in their success.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to enthuse and motivate others
- Experience of delivering a diverse package of learning & pastoral support to pupils.
- Able to cover regular lessons, contribute to planning and assessment
- Understanding of EHCP’s, annual review processes and targets and outcomes
- Ability to contribute to and share quality practice with other ISWs, teachers and the team.
- Grade C or above in both English & Maths GCSE or equivalent
- HLTA status or willingness to undertake the qualification
